For ten years, I lived with an undiagnosed brain tumor on my pituitary gland, enduring physical and emotional symptoms that took a toll on every aspect of my life. I even lost my ability to speak for six years due to Spasmodic Dysphonia. Additionally, I gained over 100 pounds and lost my left big toe to Cushing's Disease. In July 2021, my pituitary tumor was finally removed, setting me free from the clutches of this debilitating syndrome. Now, I am committed to sharing my experience, knowledge, and support with others fighting Cushings Syndrome. On a serene March 24th evening around 5:00pm, seated on my swing in the backyard of my animal sanctuary, an epiphany struck me. Inspired by an exceptionally transformative doctor's visit earlier that day, I resolved to create a video. At long last, I had received the definitive answer I had been seeking for the mysterious decade-long decline of my once vibrant and healthy body, even affecting my ability to speak. The revelation: Cushing's Disease.

This is the day found out from Dr. Gillani that I was a textbook case of Cushing’s Disease.  I am so thankful I made this video! I vowed that day that I would help others who have Cushing’s Disease. I lived for 10 years without a diagnosis. I am certain my Cushing’s Disease and my six year voice loss (Spasmodic Dysphonia) are related…outrageously high cortisol levels.

The day I was diagnosed, I vowed to help others who suffer from Cushing’s Disease. Bringing awareness and educating those in healthcare by being an example of what they can do for their patients if they are well-versed and know the visual signs of Cushing’s Disease, will save lives. My campaign provides education, brings awareness, offers compassion and support to those in healthcare, fellow “cushies” and the public. I have created this site to offer a one stop resource for someone who may suspect they have Cushing’s, has been diagnosed with Cushing’s, knows someone with Cushing’s and would like a better understanding of what their loved one or friend is experiencing and for anyone in health care (physicians, nurses, CNA's, etc…) so they can better serve their patients. With each page of this website, crushing Cushing’s, I am including all the information i wish I had known during the onset of my symptoms. I am here to share my journey with Cushing’s Disease with pray that this will be an uplifting story which will bring my readers hope, understanding, compassion and most of all, be an example of the power of prayer and introduce a lord who heals.
